With a strong desire to inspire and uplift people who have gone through and who are going through adversity, Ingrid D. Johnson & The Funky Fresh Crew present their 2015 album “Visions and Dreams”. It is an original, mix of Pop, Jazz, Soul, Rock, Reggae, Gospel, Hip-hop and Spoken word created for those who not only listen to music … but also truly hear the music.
MEET THE BAND
Ingrid D. Johnson & The Funky Fresh Crew have been performing together since, August 2009, and creating original music together since, June 2011. Most of the members in the band are full time musicians, based in Winnipeg, who enjoy creating and performing live music. They are seasoned musicians with over 15 years of musical experience, combined.
INGRID D. JOHNSON
(Singer-Songwriter & Spoken word Artist)
Ingrid D. Johnson is an emerging singer- songwriter . She is an original artist with unique vocals that some say is reminiscent of Billie Holiday, Erykah Badu, Carolina and The Chocolate Drops and a tiny bit like, Amy Whinehouse.
Johnson, believes she sounds like herself but is honored to be compared to such talented singers.
In addition to being the lead vocalist of Ingrid D. Johnson & The Funky Fresh Crew, Johnson also has powerful spoken word skills that comes from her love of writing poetry, pop, R&B, Jazz, and gospel songs. Along with doing inspirational speaking engagements about learning to overcome the impact of childhood sexual abuse.
FRANK RIZZUTO (Guitar)
Frank has played guitar since the age of thirteen. He has played in many local music venues in Winnipeg and throughout Canada.When he’s not teaching any of his guitar students Frank spends most of his time writing music,recording and performing with other musicians in Winnipeg.
STEVE MARTENS (Drums)
– Steve Martens has performed and/or recorded with Patrick Keenan, Ash Koley, The Idgets, Olaf Pytlikk’s Rock Opera ‘The Wave’ at the Manitoba Theatre Centre, Record of the Week Club, Texas based punk band Scaterd Few, Singer/ producer Mike Petkau, The Todd Hunter Band, Julia Kasdorf, Querkus, Chris Goertzen & the Hazy Pilgrims, Monica Schroeder, Bryce Pallister, Alana Levandoski, Rik Leaf & Tribe Of One, Don Amero, The Perms, Darren Day, Rick Unruh, Jon Buller and Dave Quanbury. Steve has toured throughout the US, Canada, Lithuania, Germany, Holland, and Denmark.
NICK MULLIN (Keyboard)
Drummer, Pianist, and Guitarist, Nick Mullin, has been involved in the Manitoba music industry in a variety of different ways over the last 15 years since moving from Seattle, WA. He is an educator, producer, performer, and worship leader and enjoys each chance he gets to partner with other creative musicians from around the province. His collaborations include work with Ingrid D. Johnson, Jordan St. Cyr, Andrew Hedlin, and Matthew Berg. He directs the worship bands at Providence University College and St. Aidan’s Christian School, records and teaches privately out of his home studio under Endless Music Productions, and has led worship at various churches around Winnipeg including Calvary Temple, Elim Chapel, The Table, and Waves of Glory. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, watching Seahawks football, working out, and fearlessly “attempting” home renovations.
